The Bewdley Christmas Lights Festival is organised by the Bewdley Christmas Lights Festival Committee, an independent committee to support and promote Bewdley which is made up of volunteers from the local community.
We welcome visitors to come and join us and have a good day and to support local charities. We are expecting to have around 70 market and charity stalls offering food, gifts and crafts. There will be fairground rides, band and choir, street entertainers, fair ground organs, local radio station and more. They all will be lined along the riverside, Load Street throughout the day and into the evening where you can have a lot of fun. Local shops will be decorating their windows to join the Christmas theme and the committee will present a price to the winner.
Every year around 5,000 people come into the busy town to enjoy the feast of entertainment on offer, before a procession led by Father Christmas who will make it’s way to the Guildhall for the big switch-on. Park and ride will be located at Bewdley High School (Stourport Road) where a bus will ferry passengers to and from the town.
The Children Fancy Dress competition will be held at 5 o’clock.
If you would like to have a stall (either for charity, good cause or trade), would like to take part in the parade or would like more information, please contact us on the details below.
The committee is appealing for volunteers to help with marshalling, anyone interested please contact us.
